Bliss Fresh Fruit Tea
Look no further! Under covid-19 lockdown, if Taiwanese tea shops are not easily accessible, make your fruit tea at home to your liking!
For the tea base, I used Twinning breakfast tea for a full bodied, robust and rich flavour. I added orange, apple and pear to add sweetness to the tea, and a lemon and a lime for enhancing acidity. As high heat will denature vitamins, I reserve some fresh fruits for addition after the boiled tea cools down.
Cooking time:
25 minutes
Ingredients (for 4 cups):
Water 1 litre
Orange, pear, apple, loquat, lime, lemon, passion fruit one each
Sugar to taste
British breakfast tea(i used Twinning)3 packs
How-to-make:
Peel the pear, apple, loquat and dice them. Peel the orange and slice it. Slice the lime and lemon as well. Reserve some orange, lime and lemon slices for use afterwards.
Remove the paper labels of tea bags
Add water into a pot, bring it to a boil. Add fruits and tea bags, heat for 15 minutes on a low heat.
Turn off the stove. Taste and add sugar if needed
Cover with a lid and leave the tea in the pot for 10 minutes
When serving, add passion fruit seeds, lemon, orange and lime slices. Add ice to your liking.
